I would have liked to give this café more than 5 stars. I went to Nara Park with friends and then we looked for a café nearby and found this one. Very friendly & kind staff, great ambience and a very tasty selection of drinks & cakes. My favorites were definitely the hazelnut latte, the matcha cheesecake and the chocolate cake with nuts Overall, I don't know how it could have been any better, so a full 5 stars from me!!

Cafe Zuccu is like stepping into a peaceful time capsule in Nara: warm light, antique furniture, books everywhere, and excellent cake and coffee. Crème brûlée and pumpkin cheesecake are must-tries. The staff is kind, the ambiance is relaxed — it’s the kind of café you’ll want to stay in long after your cup is finished. Just remember: cash only, limited seats, but 100% worth it.

Café-restaurant located in a quiet, non-touristy area of Nara. I came across it with my wife by chance and it was an incredible surprise. The food was excellent, as was the presentation of the dishes. The place has a traditional charm and the staff is very friendly. Be careful though, they only take cash, to be expected ;)

Such a cozy, comfortable and relaxed cafe. They make you want to stay there for hours. They renovated an old traditional Japanese house. They have a lot of books that you can read with your drink there. Their coffee and tea are very good. It’s a privilege to have such a gem in my parents’ neighbourhood.
